<p>Will Apple have a wake up call later this year as Flash 10.1 appears inside browsers across <i>other</i> top tier devices? Some of <a href="http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/mobile_demos_fp10.1.html" target="_blank">the preview videos are compelling</a>.</p>
<p>Sadly, this is not true for iPhone (or at least not at the time of this post):</p>

<p>If you <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/05/boxee-box-officially-announced-under-200-flash-10-1-support/" target="_blank">hadn&#8217;t heard the news</a>, the <a href="http://www.boxee.tv/box" target="_blank">boxee box</a> coming out of <a href="http://cesweb.org" target="_blank">CES</a> (it won <a href=" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06PcGuf_mug" target="_blank">&#8220;Best of Show&#8221; at CES</a>), will be supporting Flash Video among many other media when it ships.</p>
<p><img src="http://flashmobile.scottjanousek.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/23236.png" width="320" height="244" alt="23236.png" /></p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.d-link.com/products/?pid=739" target="_blank">Boxee box</a> (partnership of <a href="http://www.boxee.tv/box" target="_blank">boxee</a> and <a href="http://www.d-link.com/products/?pid=739" target="_blank">D-Link</a>) will be able to play Adobe Flash 10.1, H.264 (MKV, MOV), MPEG-4, Xvid, Divx, WMV, VC-1 and other formats, and will feature built-in 802.11n. It will stream 1080p, play <a href="http://www.hulu.com" target="_blank">Hulu</a> videos, as well as support for Pandora, <a href="http://www.last.fm" target="_blank">Last.fm</a>, <a href="http://www.facebook.com" target="_blank">Facebook</a>, <a href="http://www.twitter.com" target="_blank">Twitter</a>, <a href="http://www.Picasa.com" target="_blank">Picasa</a>, and <a href="http://www.flickr.com" target="_blank">Flickr</a>. It will no doubt support additional apps, plugins, and games. Looks like it has <a href="http://blog.boxee.tv/2010/01/07/boxee-box-internals-revealed-nvidia-tegra-2-ftw/" target="_blank">NVIDIA Tegra 2</a>. </p>
<p>It&#8217;s reported to have <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/05/boxee-box-officially-announced-under-200-flash-10-1-support/" target="_blank">&#8220;Flash Player 10.1 support&#8221;</a>. I take that to mean it merely plays Flash Videos &#8230; but, I&#8217;m not entirely sure if the UI is native, or Flash based. Regardless of the technology, the UI is very well done.</p>
<p>BTW: It&#8217;s reported to retail $200 when it ships.</p>
