With all the exciting announcements around Flash across devices, thought I’d post about our upcoming workshop that’s happening at FATC (aka Flash and the City) in NYC next month, May 13th (the official conference is 14th-16th, BTW).

Now, if you checked it out earlier this year you would have noticed an iPhone specific session. Not any more. We’ve replaced it with an intro to Android type session. Sorry Apple, but you made it clear that Flash devs aren’t invited to your party, so we’re going to the other one, instead. Some of us still like you, but only cause we use Adobe tooling on and for your platforms.

Back, to the workshop … at it, you’ll know find some really great content, including a session by Max Antinori covering AS3 Device APIs on Flash enabled devices, and how to leverage Flash CS5 and Device Central to build and test your mobile apps.

You’ll also get to hear from me about my 4 year journey with Flash across devices (boring I know).

More exciting stuff includes an introduction to Android. Sorry, it won’t cover any Adobe AIR for Android in any depth (unless we get permission from Adobe), but it will cover native Android development as well as “getting up to speed” material for Flash, Flex, and AIR professionals.

Also, litl will be presenting their new SDK at the event for their cloud based webbook. This includes covering a new Flash Player 10.1 slated for their device, new APIs, and how to leverage both Flash and Flex on their device.

Here’s the agenda (tenative) for May 13th:

09:00 am – 10:15 am
Scott Janousek – Flash Development on Mobile & Devices

10:30 am – 11:45 am
Max Antinori – Using Device APIs with Flash CS5 and Adobe Device Central

12:00 pm – 01:00 pm
—————- LUNCH (not catered) —————-

01:15 pm – 03:15 pm
TBD – Introduction to Android

03:30 pm – 05:00 pm
Chuck Freedman & Kathryn Rotondo	- A litl SDK for Flash and Flex

For those that are attending FATC next month, I recommend you sign up for the workshop and swing by and get some info about what’s happening with Flash across various mobile and devices.

Don’t forget to register for FATC, it’s getting way to close to not be able to attend.
