On Sunday, I am leaving to attend Forum Nokia Developer Days and a bit of CTIA Wireless in Las Vegas.
Should be a fun time, especially since I missed out on Mobile World Congress.
Anyways, I hope to see a few familiar faces there (as well as new ones).
For those unable to attend … I [...]

Somehow, I missed this announcement (although, I am guessing it was very region specific and has just now been localized to English).
Anyways, the news is that Adobe and CELL have announced Adobe Device Central Premium Service in Japan for the Flash Lite/mobile developers there.
Here is the overview:
“Adobe Device Central Premium Service for Japanese mobile content [...]

I just read from Mark Doherty’s blog that Device Profile #5 is now available for download.
In addition to many new Flash Lite 2.x devices, this new update has some of the first profiles for Flash Lite 3 devices shipping world-wide; including the Nokia N95 NAM, and some supported Japanese Keitai.
In addition; as always … [...]

This Flash Lite Friday Tip (belated, sorry) is related from something brought up in John Agger’s (Adobe, Mobile and Devices) Adobe Mobile Podcasts (which I was just catching up on).
In it, among examples of Flash Lite 3 video and other Flash Mobile tid-bits, John talks about performance calibration in ADC (Adobe Device Central).
Although most [...]

I just caught an interesting but hardly verified post about the potential of an iPhone SDK “simulator”.
Hmmm, a simulator/emulator for Mobile Development? You don’t say!
See:
• Nokia
• Adobe Device Central
• BREW (NO LINK)
• Android
… and others.
No self respectable Mobile Developer is going to want to build and test [...]

I just had some time to catch up on the community and watch some of Mark Doherty’s (Adobe, Mobile Developer Relations for EMEA) e-Seminar: “Developing mobile content with Adobe Creative Suite 3″.
This particular e-Seminar was geared towards those just getting into Flash Lite and Mobile using Adobe products …
However, if you’re like me, you [...]

Kathy Charneco (Adobe - Mobile and Devices) dropped an email in my inbox about a several video podcasts that John Agger (Adobe - Mobile and Devices) put together a while back.
Here’s a summary:
Watch or listen to this podcast series aimed at Creative Professionals new to mobile, as Adobe Host John Agger walks you through tutorials [...]

I’ll start with a pretty obvious statement (well, obvious to those doing mobile):
Optimization (or “Optimisation” if you prefer!) is an huge part of mobile development.
A lot of folks doing desktop development take resources (memory, processor, etc) for granted these days on the desktop. There are all very precious commodities when dealing on 99.9% of [...]

Memory is a very precious commodity when working with mobile development. This is no fault of the software, but rather the constrained hardware portable devices we (typically) deal with, and in particular, handsets.
Up until just recently, knowledge about the internals of memory allocation and management with Flash Lite has been sporadically posted about on various [...]
