iRiver Clix “Plus” PMP?

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

Via engadget … some speculation on a “new” iRiver Clix device: 2/4/8GB capacities and a rumored 3-inch LCD. You can see the “teaser” here.
Original source from irverfans.com. I’ll believe it when I see the mystery device up on www.iriver.co.kr.
No word whether this iRiver device supports Flash Lite (if it even exists, that is).

LG.Philips developing smudge-free displays

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

I caught this earlier last week, but just now getting to post about it …
Via Engaget: LG.Philips readying smudge-free computer displays.
You can read the LG official release.

LG Philips LCD said the thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) panel allows easy removal of dust, smudges, fingerprints and even permanent ink.
The company said in a [...]

iRiver D27 - ‘Color up, contents up’?

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Via Engadget, iRiver is touting a new device; the “D27″.
I think based on the model number (D), it’s another portable dictionary type device, similar to the D26 … but with more great capabilities, given the ‘Color Up, contents up’ slogan.
Not sure if this specific device supports Flash Lite! However, the D5 DOES HAVE Flash Lite [...]

Clix 2 … listening to music while playing Flash Lite Games

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

Via clixhere.net:

Looks like the clix 2 gets another firmware update. This one is v1.15. Not sure of the changes/updates but we do know that since v1.14 you can play Flash Games while listening to music. We hadn’t noticed this before but member Toxicity brought it to our attention, good catch! The new firmware is available [...]

Flash Lite Friday - Tip of the Day #9

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

Bill recently posted some localized “GO” links and I was traversing them earlier.
I found some resources available from Korea and Japan. Mostly some regional (Korean and Japanese) devnet articles from earlier in the year.
Some of it is interesting, so I’m sharing this info as a Flash Lite Friday - Tip of the Day.
Here are [...]

Straight from Korea … the “Human LCD”

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

Via zedomax, this would be even cooler if they were all Flashers (because then I could label this is a Human Flash LCD Display) … but it’s still awesome (looks like a bunch of spliced video … but the amount of coordination just for some of the animations!) …
Anyways, they are just some crazy [...]

My DVShow postcast from Flashforward 2007 (Boston)

Friday, October 5th, 2007

A few weeks back I did a impromptu podcast for theDVShow right after my session on Flash Lite at Flashforward 2007 (Boston), which I noticed is now available.
In this conversation (my first podcast), we are just shooting the breeze about Flash Lite, Flash Lite enabled iRiver devices, casual games, Flash Lite 2.x device and 3 [...]

New iRiver portable devices reported

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Via clixhere.net - new iRiver devices coming soon …
Will these be Flash Lite enabled? Not sure. They’d be silly not to utilize Flash Lite for any devices that support d-click user interface (why ruin a good thing? … a Flash Lite UI = portablility, resuability for starters!).
Rather than post photos that are not mine, refer [...]

Samsung files patent for Mobile Game Joystick

Monday, July 16th, 2007

I caught this off Engadget … Samsung has put in a patent for a one piece mobile game joystick. Basically, the device itself acts as a joystick once “transformed”.
A few months back, I had posted about Zeemote™ (mobile “joystick”) (they have an external add-on device) … interesting, in it’s own right.
Personally, I like the one-piece [...]

iRiver U:MO PMP features Flash Lite 2.1 UI and content

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Via engadget … not surprisingly, iRiver has just announced yet another PMP like device with Flash Lite 2.1 onboard.
This device supports Flash Lite content (games), as well as the infamous D-Click User Interface.
Looks very similar to the iRiver B20 profile, except this device has access to satellite programming (i.e. it supports tv, radio, & [...]
