What’s in my library?

Monday, August 14th, 2006

I just posted about Delicious Monster.
What’s in my library? (a whole lot of Flash and tech books, that’s what) …
Here’s what I’ve scanned so far … still have to do movies (don’t really have too many though), and physical CDs (blah), and of course, MP3’s.
There are plugins available to export to web and [...]

11 is better than 10?

Friday, August 11th, 2006

… Nigel would not make for a very good UI designer.

Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and…
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it’s louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it’s [...]

gmail POP3 access acting “flakey” recently?

Friday, July 28th, 2006

Is it just me or has gmail POP access been acting “flakey” recently? I’ve noticed it has been often unavailable several times within the last couple weeks.
HTTP access is fine, seems only POP is in turmoil … maybe they’re dealing with some DOS attacks, or upgrading? Not sure. I’m fairly sure it’s not on my [...]

“Strings” - who says you need special effects?

Sunday, July 23rd, 2006

“Strings”. This is one of the most interesting movies I’ve seen in a while. By interesting, I really mean unique.
I believe it’s a

Futuristic Contact Lenses

Thursday, July 6th, 2006

I caught this in a recent wired magazine and thought it was worth posting since it’s either thought provoking, or just too cool a concept not to share. Take your pick.
Obviously, it’s a tease … unless there’s some underground government program I’m not aware of? … But seriously, wired was just playing with the idea.
In [...]

Joining the MacBook owner crowd

Monday, June 26th, 2006

I went with the MacBook Pro 15″, since this will combine both my legacy Voodoo PC laptop for development purposes and my trusty old 17″ PowerBook G4 for design. I’m consolidating two machines into one (well almost) … the goal is to have one laptop and one OS by the end of the year for [...]

R.I.P. F11 key

Monday, June 19th, 2006

I think the pictures say it all. My Voodoo laptop has suffered a minor injury … now, if I put the F11 key under my pillow … does the magic key fairy visit?

BumpTop Prototype: a physics based desktop UI

Friday, June 16th, 2006

All I can is wow.
This is perhaps one of the most intuitive desktop UI’s I’ve ever seen … reminds me of Yugop’s physics based business card app.
BumpTop is not a product (yet), strictly research. But still, this would be one sweet desktop UI if Microsoft or Apple picked it up (I think you can guess [...]

The opposite of the Keith Peter’s tribulations

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

Have you been following?
If not, check out: Keith Peter’s tribulations with Best Buy.
This post is not about ripping Best Buy though. It’s about a better customer service. In fact, I had a complete opposite customer experience than KP, which I’d like to share.
After purchasing a Toshiba laptop a few weeks back from the [...]

Picked up by Fullasagoog

Wednesday, June 7th, 2006

Looks like I’ve been picked up by Fullasagoog recently (thanks for the add!). Goog-licious.

Yes, it’s been three years or so since I started this blog. It’s evolved quite a bit since then. But, now what?
Well, I’d like hear from the readers out there. What else would you like to see (more of) here? Product reviews? [...]
