Test blog post from Word 2007

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

Apparently, Word 2007 now supports publishing blog entries to several popular formats (including WordPress). Still adapting to the new UI, but so far it’s an interesting experience.

I’m not sure if I’ll use Word to make entries yet, but time will tell. I’ve tried other external apps to post, but I’ve always ended back at the [...]

Spawn + Drizzt Do’Urden + Red Sox Pitcher = ?

Monday, January 15th, 2007

Sorry, this is not a mobile, nor a Flash post … but it’s a Boston post, so it’s relevant to my blog.
See if you can figure out the association on this one:
Spawn + Drizzt Do’Urden + Red Sox = ?
Give up yet? Check out Green Monster Games, which apparently is a new game company [...]

What is Grey Thumb?
“Grey Thumb Boston is a group of scientists, engineers, [...]

I am now working for schematic.com

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

Just a quick FYI, but I have just come aboard schematic.com in the recently formed Boston office. Yes, we are now in the city, known simply as “Bean Town”.
I’ll post more about this at a later date … when I know specifically what I am able to, and not able to, talk about.

Useful trick with a whiteboard and permanent marker

Saturday, September 23rd, 2006

If you use whiteboards a lot, you’ve mistakeningly used permanent ink on it once or twice (usually this is because someone leaves such a marker lying about!). Well, there’s a pretty cool trick, if you’re in a situation where there is no whiteboard cleaner to be found anywhere …
Simply write over the permanent marker [...]

Making USB devices appear on a Windows Desktop as icons

Monday, September 18th, 2006

Can anyone point me to an simple app that makes USB devices (like thumbdrives) appear as icons on a Windows (XP) Desktop?
I want to turn 2 clicks into just one … like the way the Macs handle device mounting. You plug the device in and it shows up on the desktop. Click and [...]

Microsoft Vista Beta 2 for free

Wednesday, August 16th, 2006

I thought this might be of interest for at least a few folks that are diehard Windows fans.
Microsoft has a short survey where you can pick up Vista Beta 2 for free.
There is no doubt this expires after some usage … but it might be nice to slap onto a spare (non-production) machine [...]
