What is Singularity? I don’t know!

Friday, January 4th, 2008

What is Singularity?
No clue … but apparently: “In 2008, Singularity will define the web.”
Here’s some definitions you can speculate off.
For more info, check out Aral’s site.
Judging from the “I am Singularity” logo on Aral’s site my guess is that it is something that connects people or data together. But that’s probably wrong. I [...]

Happy Birthday to Adobe? (and to me)

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

I haven’t really checked MXNA today, but I’ve seen some evidence posted in a few places leading me to believe it’s Adobe’s “25th” today … ironically, it’s also my birthday. Happy b-day to us?
I won’t post my history, it’s quite boring.
Here’s Adobe’s, instead:

EARLY HISTORY: WARNOCK AND GESCHKE
Adobe Systems Inc. was founded in 1982 [...]

Cell-Phone Junkies Feel Phantom Ring Vibrations

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

A reporter (Ellen Simon) contacted me sometime ago about this phenomenon, but I (luckily) wasn’t really a severely effected candidate!
Do you suffer Cell-Phone Junkies Feel Phantom Ring Vibrations?
There’s a reason why they call them “Crack-Berries”, folks.

Is this really a case of someone dying from an ‘exploding’ phone?

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Yesterday, some Korean news reported about a Korean quarry worked who died from what was reported to be an “exploding” cell phone.
Today, they are quick to report: “Phone may not have killed worker”.
Here is some of what was reported:
“… The quarry worker, whose name has not been released, was found dead Wednesday with a melted [...]

tripit.com - organize your travel

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

I just found out about tripadvisor (yep, through twitter). For those that think twitter is a useless/frivilous time waster, think again … Twitter is the new viral marketing mechanism of 2007/2008!
Anyways, tripit.com, would have come in handy this year with all the traveling I did. I have yet to use the service, but it does [...]

Da Vinici … an early “Easter Egg” programmer?

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

If this is true, this will make Da Vinci some sort of early Easter Egg programmer … and a highly gifted one at that (again, if there is any credibility to these unsubstantiated “findings”).
To me it sounds like fiction (we see/hear what we want to) … but, I’m sure all the world will be [...]

SOS Wallet AKA Mobile Phone Wallet via instructables.com

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Via instructables.com: I think this is a really neat idea, especially if you are traveling! SOS Wallet AKA Mobile Phone Wallet … keep a bit of cash, etc. in your mobile device in case of emergency!
Of course, this is only practical if you loose your wallet … if you are robbed (and have a decent [...]

“Phantom” rings and/or flashes

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Someone sent me this recently, I thought it was interesting (if not a bit unsettling) so I am posting to see if anyone else has experienced this “phenomena”:

From what I’ve read on your Web site, you’re a lover of new devices. I’m writing about people who experience phantom vibrations (or rings, or flashing lights) [...]

Potential affects of Day Light savings in North America

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

Here is a breakdown of some of the possible affects of Day Light savings in North America on March 11, 2007.
Some of it is (portable) device related, hence the interest and the post. It’s like a mini Y2K, except this one might actually cause a few issues here and there.
