Bill Perry (Adobe, M&D) put together a a post and video covering the Flash Lite features (preinstalled themes) on the Sony Ericsson s500i.

Here’s some of what Bill had to say.

…It shows how Sony Ericsson is using Flash Lite for creating Flash Lite themes and it’s one of the best examples I’ve seen of an OEM [...]

Alessandro came across an article about how QNX is leveraging Flash Lite 3 in their real time operating system, apparently orginating from CNN.

ZDNet comments on the “Flash Non-PC footprint” stats

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

I caught this awhile back via John Dowell on twitter. Yes, twitter is useful for things like this (news), and contrary to belief all not so totally “lame-o”.
Check out the article: Adobe claims Flash’s non-PC footprint alone will be 1 billion by 2010.
Basically, the author couldn’t see where the 300 million non-PC devices (eg: handsets, [...]

Sony Ericsson S500i with Flash Lite User Interface

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Mark Doherty had a post about some of the Flash Lite User Interface found on the Sony Ericsson S500i.
The device reminds me a little bit of the LG Chocolate we have over here in the US with Verizon Wireless (which also has some Flash Lite User Interface as well as Flash Lite for BREW support) [...]

Future of Mobile Conference - Nov 14th in London

Friday, October 26th, 2007

This looks like a pretty cool conference over in London. It’s a shame I can’t make it (or can I?). Hmmm.
Looks like some folks from Adobe are attending/speaking.
Matt Miillar (Director of Mobile and Devices - EMEA @ Adobe) appears to be speaking on “Next Generation UI”. I also thought I saw Mark Doherty [...]

My DVShow postcast from Flashforward 2007 (Boston)

Friday, October 5th, 2007

A few weeks back I did a impromptu podcast for theDVShow right after my session on Flash Lite at Flashforward 2007 (Boston), which I noticed is now available.
In this conversation (my first podcast), we are just shooting the breeze about Flash Lite, Flash Lite enabled iRiver devices, casual games, Flash Lite 2.x device and 3 [...]

New iRiver portable devices reported

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Via clixhere.net - new iRiver devices coming soon …
Will these be Flash Lite enabled? Not sure. They’d be silly not to utilize Flash Lite for any devices that support d-click user interface (why ruin a good thing? … a Flash Lite UI = portablility, resuability for starters!).
Rather than post photos that are not mine, refer [...]

iRiver B20 is out in Korea - Flash Lite 2.1 User Interface

Saturday, June 9th, 2007

The iRiver B20 Personal Media Player is out in Korea. It was announced a while back at CES.

This device is essentially a Clix 2 with more functionality and sleeker design (than the u10, that is). The specs are laid out here. Lots of device photos here.
In additional to other features, iRiver has once again [...]

iqrio G7 - yet another Korean PMP is Flash Enabled

Saturday, May 12th, 2007

I spotted the Korean based iqrio G7 recently, and noticed it has a Flash Player on it. Most likely based on the specs, this is a Flash Lite Player … if I were a betting man, I’d guess 2.x. Not sure if the UI is in Flash or not, but perhaps. There are some photos [...]
