Google acquired On2 Technologies this month

If you hadn’t heard the news earlier this month, On2 technologies was acquired by Google.
On2 VP6 codec has been used in Flash since version 8 (native .FLV, or Flash Video) and is very popular for video streaming services these days (e.g. hulu, and many many others)!

HTC Hero (Android Device) review from Mark Doherty (Adobe)

Mark Doherty (Adobe) posted a review of the HTC Hero, the 1st Android Device to support Flash (i.e. Flash Lite 3.1 if you must know).
He covers several areas including a summary of his device experience, web browsing, Flash possibilities, social network features, and exchange support (or lack thereof without 3rd party).

HTC Hero is the first Android device to support Flash

Some pretty cool news yesterday. Flash has come to it’s first Android based device, the Hero from Open Screen partner HTC!

It’s a follow up to the G1, and has a multitouch HVGA screen, accelerometer support, GPS, Compass, WIFi, 5 MP camera, Android Webkit Browser, and now with Flash makes for even more rich mobile [...]

My session will be on utilizing device APIs to tap into accelerometers for UI, games, and applications (across a number of mobile platforms).
