Lee posted about the Galaxy Tab, which is one of many tablet form factors slated to support Flash Player 10.1 as they roll out into next year. Here’s a promo video.

I love how they have learned that to beat Apple you need the “hip” and trendy factor. Still, until you actually start using a 7″ tablet and understand all the realities, much of this may end up just being eye-candy like the iPad.

Still, I have no doubt this will be one of several great Android tablets and people will find great use cases among all the fluff, especially in digital home, where you don’t want to necessary use your phone, yet the laptop is not convenient either.

Recently, some people (BBC news?) have demoed the Galaxy and other android tablets demoded at IFA this week (Toshiba, ViewSonic, etc) which can be seen in this video.

Here’s some BBC coverage at IFA. There’s also some skepticism (from mass consumers, mind you) from those across the pond.

Personally, I think the win for tablet form factor is the home. However, the 7″ design does seem like it might be something people are more likely to carry around than to lug an iPad in a bag.

I think the future of Android Tablets (if there is to be one) is in the business world. A small form tablet with the ability to “clip on” additional functionality, like a scanner or laser distance measurer and suddenly small businesses can supply their field personnel with handheld computer, running custom software, specifically for their business model…and do it cheaply. Android tablets and Adobe Air are a match made in small business heaven.

Just to put these number in perspective, Apple sells 8M iPhones a quarter. If Samsung really manages to sell 10M Galaxy S by the end of the year, it’ll sell around 30% as many Androids as Apple sells iPhones. Now, apple might increase the iPhone sales rate, but we need to remember that the Galaxy only came out in the second quarter.
    Very impressive achievement for Samsung.
