Adobe nixes Slider and announces Hero and plans for Flex and Mobile

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

If you’re a Flex Developer here are some announcements worth reading. Apparently, Adobe has nixed the Slider project and moved into creating Flex targeting SmartPhones and other devices without branching off the next version of Flex endeavors codenamed: “Hero”. You can keep up to date on Flex for Mobile and Devices over on the opensource [...]

Caricature from FlashBelt 2010 Is that Facetime? Also, can’t get over the keypad … but at least I don’t have to worry about signal issues. a.) I’m holding it right and b.) the antenna When I have a chance I’ll give it some color, and perhaps even get some animation going on. Thanks to RS [...]

Froyo OTA update reportedly hitting AT&T users with Google Nexus One (Android)

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Apparently, engadget is reporting that Froyo is hitting Google Nexus One devices owned by AT&T users right now (or at least in the US). If you have AT&T, you could check for updates. Settings->About Phone->System updaters should work (but I did my update manually). If you are elsewhere, give it a try anyways … I [...]

I’ve been selected as an industry judge for the Adobe MAX 2010 awards

Monday, June 28th, 2010

I’ve been attending Adobe MAX for several years now, but this year I’ve been asked to participate in the official judging that goes on for MAX awards. This is both an honor and a privilege and I’m sure that by industry judge they mean mobile and device related entries (i.e. the “multiscreen” category, as I [...]

FITC San Francisco 2010 in August … it’s not to be missed!

Monday, June 28th, 2010

What’s this “FITC” thing? Here’s something short and sweet: “FITC has gathered over 70 internationally renowned presenters from around the globe for this epic three day Flash, Design & Technology event. FITC has held sold out events in Toronto, Hollywood, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Seoul, and Chicago, and is very excited to be in San Francisco, Adobe’s [...]

html5rocks.com? I don’t see it … but I’m hopeful that will change in a few years (maybe)

Friday, June 25th, 2010

I searched really hard, but besides the dream of having DHTML (yes I call it like I see it) that really works across a bunch of different browsers, operating systems and platforms, there’s nothing particular about this site, that I can find … that “rocks”. Still I’m hopeful that HTML5 takes hold, albeit in a [...]

Verizon Wireless promotes Flash 10.1 as a feature on Motorola (Android) devices in USA

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Always cool to see Flash advertised as a feature on devices. I used to see this all the time with the Asian market (most notably iRiver, etc) … in the past it’s always been “Flash Enabled”, or “Flash Lite x.x” (don’t laugh, this was circa 2007 or 2008). Good to see it’s now Flash 10.1 [...]

My Deep Dive Adobe Device Central CS5 lab at Adobe MAX 2010

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

So, Adobe MAX registration just opened up the other day. Very cool. I don’t think I’ve publicly posted this, but I’ll be attending this year as a speaker (I’ve been attending of the US event since 2004, regardless of whether I spoke, or not). I’m giving a BYOL lab covering Adobe Device Central and testing [...]
