This is kind of last minute for me … but this Saturday I leave for Belgium for next week’s Multi-Mania ’09 conference (May 18-19).

My session is: “AppStore Revolution Craze”. It’s (mostly) a business and awareness presentation on the state of mobile, and the AppStore craziness that’s out there across not only Apple’s AppStore, but also newer distribution stores existing and coming to light (BlackBerry AppWorld, Android AppMarket, Palm “App Catalog” (TBD), Windows Mobile Marketplace (TBD), and others).

Of course, I’ll have the tie in for Nokia’s OVI Store with Flash Lite, as well as discussion on some of the appStores that will potentially support Flash content in the future (Android, Palm, Windows Mobile Marketplace).

Koen is organizing the whole deal (with help from some folks in the Netherlands).

At “2M’09″, among many talented and knowledge people will be Aral Balkan, Andre Michelle, Rob Chiu, Peter Elst, Serge Jespers, Sakri Rosenstrom, Rob Bateman, Niko Stump, and many others (do I really need to post the links? These folks are highly searchable. lol).

Thomas Joos, is doing a Flash Lite workshop for the attendees where they can learn about how to jump into mobile and device development, with existing Flash skills.

Here is more info:

“It will be a technical and inspirational introduction into mobile development. We will be covering the basics like XML, Video, Audio, Twitter and Flickr integration, using webservices, saving data, … Together with tips and tricks for optimizing your mobile interface I’ll do my very best to assist you with the start of your killer mobile application!”

If you’re in Belgium (or the vicinity), and free next week, plus interested in multimedia, I’d check out the conference (I think the current attendee count is at: 1,000)! Did I mention it’s FREE!
