Adobe published a PDF that contains a matrix of supported and unsupported ActionScript in Flash Lite versions 2.1, 3.0, 3.1, “3.1.7″ as well as Adobe Mobile Clients: 1.0 and 1.1 (which are AS 1.0 based BTW).
It looks very much like a “work in progress” right now (MS Excel dump?), but regardless, it’s still a valuable [...]

I already recently posted about the Opera Software case study (with Flash Lite) which surfaced on the Adobe site.
Well, a recent announcement about Opera Mobile 9.7 has them continuing their Flash support in their newest of browser technology (slated for Windows Mobile touchscreen market, first, I believe).
Apparently, 9.7 is a “server-accelerated browser” for smartphones and [...]

Serge Jespers (Adobe Platform Evangelist) and Mark Doherty (Adobe, Flash Mobile Evangelist) posted recently about Opera and iRiver talking about their success stories (iRiver, Opera) leveraging Flash in the mobile space for user experiences.
You can read Serge’s post and read Marks’s post.

I found this over on htcsource where they reported Bsquare will be responsible for Flash on Android going forward for a “global Tier 1 carrier” (a guess = T-Mobile).
There are essentially a handful of companies that do Flash Player porting to devices in the world; and BSquare is one of them (another for instance, is [...]

Rob Toole had a live BAMaDUG podcast (Boston Adobe Mobile and Device User Group) from 360|iDev that took place earlier this month.
It features some commentary and discussion from mobile developers known within Flash community (Rob, Emmanuelle, Dave, James).
I share a lot of sentiment (esp from James Eberhardt who is organizing FITC Mobile 2009) given during [...]

I noticed Mark Doherty “got bloggy with’it”, and revamped his site.
Looks nice (nice job, Mark), and puts my antique blog to shame. I’ll be looking to change that sometime in the next couple of months (hopefully) …
Would also be nice to have a new “Mobile Perry blog” from “Mr. Nokia” himself, Mr. Bill [...]

An interesting feature request has been submitted to Adobe for future Flash Players.
“Open up the microphone object in ActionScript to allow access to the raw bytes coming in from the device’s (computer) microphone access through Flash Player.
This would enable features like sound/stream capture, sound manipulation, stereo activity, advanced activity detection and possibly tune/equalizer modification [...]

Anand of Calsoft posted about TI’s “Beagleboard” running Flash Lite 3 content.
BeagleBoard is a $150 motherboard that can run Linux, and a slew of open source initiatives.
Beagleboard operating in “OMAP 3503″ mode (without graphics or video accelerators) running Angstrom / Open Embedded Linux 2.6 running Adobe Flash Lite v3.1 Stand-alone Player ported by [...]

Via All About Symbian: YouTube has finally added Flash Lite 3 video support to their Mobile Site.
This means native Flash Video playback for the millions of Flash enabled devices out on market (Windows Mobile, Symbian, and other mobile platforms).
As I’ve said before, Adobe has a chance to dominant the mobile video standards space with Flash [...]
