Downloaded the widget but it wouldn’t install on my E61, maybe its firmware doesn’t support it:0(

Tried the sis installer download but it gave a ‘certificate error’

This partially worked, app installed ok, but doesn’t run:

I used following steps to get it to run:

    Certificate Error
Go to “App. Mgr.”, press “Options”, press “Settings”, make sure “Software installation” is set to “All”, and “Online certif. check” is set to “Off”

The application installation went through without error. It left an icon in my Flash Lite 3 folder, however app didn’t appear when I opened Flash, clicking on Adobe Max icon gives a ‘file corrupted error’, finally had to uninstall, no problem there, pity, was looking forward to having it on the phone.

Colm. I did not say it was “perfect” (there are bugs, etc) … and I *did not* build it BTW.

Yes, the app did not go through the full signing process, so you need to adjust your default security settings. I typically leave the App Install Settings to “all” anyways, for testing purposes, etc. There is a lot more useful stuff than harmful stuff on aggregators because most monitor what is uploaded pretty carefully.

The “File Corrupted” error usually means the SWF cannot be read by the player because of incompatible format.

Usually this means the player version of the device is not the same as the published SWF.

It’s rare to have a true corrupted SWF …

Anyone having problems with the guide should contact the supplier, as I’m not sure how well the info will get picked up here.

Thanks for the post Scott. I DID develop the app, so feel free to post comments, good and bad, on my blog :)

Yes, it’s unsigned as you figured out, so need to have that ALL setting in App Mgr.

Colm, I have not seen the “corrupt swf” error before, are you sure you don’t have multiple Flash Lite players on your phone and/or have latest firmware? I have not tested on E61, unfortunately.

E61 and E62 both run Flash Lite 2.0, I believe … I don’t think there is Flash Lite 3 available for E60 series, even via firmware update … however, E71 comes with Flash Lite 3 … however, I couldn’t get the app to run on the E71.

Perhaps just make the .SWF available outside the .SIS … if it’s the packager causing the problems …

P.S. I like the video on the portal page. ok, it’s not going to win any oscars, :) but it’s funny!

More humor is needed in mobile, all around, given all the problems and headaches we have to deal with on a constant basis. :)

We’ll talk more at MAX, Max. :)

  7. Colm Brazel Says:

I’m guessing now and havn’t enough time to check this out, but I think its something to do with lack of support for the sisx packaging format on my phone.

I think sisx may only be supported on later phones and not the E61. If Max wants to send me the file in bare .swf format I’m sure it will install ok.

OT I’ll miss the workshop, as it was booked out, on 20 best tips for flash lite and the Sunday pre Max event on Flash development, but will get to many of the other Flash Lite seminars. I hope they’ll blow some of my cobwebs away:) I’ve a lot of them to contend with!

    Thanks

    Colm

  8. Max Antinori Says:

For Colm and others who are having sis install issues, the download page now includes a link to the SWF if you’d like to try that and see if it runs well for you.

  9. Max Antinori Says:

And just as a followup, I think Scott is right that the E61 does not support Flash Lite 3…so may be out of luck for the MAX mobile guide. Sorry.

  10. Colm Brazel Says:

No worries, following Scot’s comment on possible packager problem I did a google and found http://wareseeker.com/Utilities/siscontents-0.8.0.zip/428821

It worked very well and gave me access to the AdobeMax.swf. It installed no problem on the E61. Congrats on developing it.

I got Flash Lite 3, FL 2.1 as well as the native FL 1.1 working on this phone without problems. Problem was the phone doesn’t support the sisx packager format, good idea to make the .swf available as a separate download.

thanks and hope to see you both at Max.

    cheers

    Colm

One of my friend have it on his E61 and its working fine. E61 have FL1.1 pre-installed, and you can install FL3 developer version from Adobe’s website.

I guess he have latest firmware on his E61.
