ActionScript Conference in Singapore
October 18th, 2008 by Scott JanousekA while back, the new Singapore based: “ActionScript Conference” caught my eye. Looks like it’s taking place right about now.
Pretty neat idea. Who knows, perhaps it may even go on to be a worldwide event!?
Anyways, I noticed, Stefan Wessel’s giving a introductory type session on working with Flash on mobile and devices. Pretty cool. I think the event is sold out, but you can check.
Here’s the lineup:
| 8:30am - 9:00am | Registration |
| 9:00am - 9:10am | Hu Shunjie The Actionscript Conference Opening |

| 11:40am - 1:00pm | Lunch |
| 1:00pm - 1.50pm | Marco Casario Creating ActionScript Mashup applications with AIR |
| 1:50pm - 2:40pm | Peter Elst RIA Meets Desktop: Introduction to AIR APIs |
| 2:40pm - 3:30pm | Prayank Swaroop What is BlazeDS and how to use it? |

| 5:30pm - 6:00pm | Lucky Draw |
| After 6:00pm | Party Time! |
Marco and The “Elst-meister” are also giving sessions on Flex and AIR, I think. It’s fun watching the tweets from these guys as they explore the city. I was there back in 2006 as part of the Adobe MAX conference.
If you guys (Marco or Elst) are reading this, you should download the Johnny Walker (mobile tour guide for JW), Flash Lite application, and give it a “spin”, real-time, while there!
Singapore is a neat little hub for interactive, high tech, and Flash work. Not as big as some countries, but Singapore also does have a great culture for mobile.
I know for a fact, Nokia, is loved heavily there.
