I wanted to mention a few quality wordpress plugins I’ve come across that help users access your blog from various MID’s (Mobile Internet Devices).

Here they are:

  • Wordpress (Generic) Mobile Plugin - wordpressmobile.mobi
  • WPTouch iPhone Theme for Wordpress (iPhone or iPhone Touch)
  • Winksite - DS Lite/PSP (Ultimate Gamer’s Pack)

I’m sure there are other plugins, and there are number of ways (services/products) to transcode your blog to mobile … but these are the best of the lot that I’ve found for WordPress … that are easy to use and install, and I’ve been using for quite a while (with the exception of the WPTouch which I found recently which replaced a previous iPhone themed plugin).

Of course, if you keep your blog simple enough, you may not need to have any plugins at all.

Most modern highend MID’s are shipping with fairly sophisticated browsers for rendering browser content these days (case in point, Nokia S60 and iPhone with their respective browsers, as well as others).

However, being able to offer up a themed WordPress blog that is optimized, and fits the “look and feel” of the target device without any input from the end user browsing, is a big win.
