Via Bill Perry (Adobe, Mobile and Devices): there is a new devnet (aka ADC) article on Developing Flash Lite applications with dynamic layouts.

“In this tutorial I describe the process I used to develop the dynamic layout of the BacardiĀ® Mobile Cocktail application.

I’ll cover how to react to environment changes, such as the current time of day, and how to implement automatic Stage size and orientation switching.

Automatic adjustment is especially important for devices such as the Nokia N95, because it is capable of changing its resolution. For other devices, you will learn how to manually alter the orientation of your application to mimic that functionality.

It’s written by David Brown (agencynet.com), who did the Bacardi mixer app that’s been shown around within circles (within an Adobe presentation or two). If you have not seen it, you can do so here.

I caught a glimpse of it not so long ago; and even had some time to play with it first hand via Bill, recently.

It’s a very cool app, IMHO. Kudos to David and the team that created this really cool mobile experience using Flash Lite!

P.S.

It’s a shame it’s now May 6 and not Cinco De Mayo (I am kidding)!

Know what? The “Barcadi app” reminds me of the “Bar hopping app”/Digital Personal Assistant that was done for Johnny Walker a while back … the one with LBS capabilities … (I think BreakDesign collaborated with a marketing agency on that one … unfortunately, I do not have a valid link, anymore)

Two different experiences, 2 different brands, but both providing really great mobile user experiences leveraging the Flash player on mobile platforms!

… plus, add in the alcohol bit; and now you have what I like call “Rich Drinking Experiences” (RDE’s) (a joke, of course).

P.P.S. Adobe I just trademarked RDE™ … you can have “RIA!” :)
