Last night I left my phone on while it updated to the new firmware, this morning it told me phone update complete and the phone was black. Now the phone continues to be black, I’ve tried everything! The 3 key thing does not work. It seems like the phone is dead.

I put the wall adapter for power and then it automatically jumps to the black screen so there’s no time for the 3 button reset.

If I leave it charged and then take the wall power out and take the battery off, do the 3 button thing, it still doesn’t work.

I been walking around work trying all day and still, NOTHING!

Nokia is stupid for bringing out this update and sooo many people having the same problem. If anyone finds a solution, please share at sunish_4u78@yahoo.co.in or at sunish_78@rediffmail.com PLEASE.

Hi Pieter,

I had the same exact problem and no reset or reboot worked on the phone since it was a white screen. Luckly, my phone was still with insurance so I sent it to Nokia and they had to send me a new one. They said there’s no way around that prolem so you should send it back so you can get a new one. Don’t waste your time pushing buttons or trying to reboot it, it won’t work because according to them, it’s a major software issue. I got a new one now so the last thing I want to do is update it and when I did, my GPS would take hours to connect. They should really take a look ah their software – they remind me of Microsoft Windows that make software that don’t work!

Hi guys, I did the update, half way through it rebooted. Now when I try and switch the phone on it gives the white screen, then the nokia logo and then reboots again. It keeps repeating that cycle and I now can’t access my phone. I did try the ard reset with the dial, *,3 buttons and tried taking out the battery for 5 minutes. Still does the same thing. Please help
