So I’m just now following up a post about one of Aral’s recent endeavors:

singularity08.com

For the longest time, many of us in the community were speculating what it was (myself included).

Now, recently, it was announced.

Singularity is:

“Singularity is the first large-scale online web conference in the world.

Singularity is over 100 of the world’s top web visionaries, developers, designers, thought leaders, and celebrities.

Singularity is three days of talks over multiple tracks.

In 2008, Singularity will define Web ‘08.”

As one who did a fair share of traveling last year in 2007; with even more scheduled for this year … I can say that a online web-based conference is an interesting idea.

Perhaps this idea was hatched after Aral did his SWX tour last year.

Anyways, physically located events are great, but it’s always great having the virtual ones as well!

I guess the next step is a 2nd life conference … there probably exists one; if not … there’s an idea.

Max Antorini might be following up on that one … not sure!

2nd life conference…cool idea! But first baby step is to get more SL users signed on and joined with the Flash group, the Flash Lite group (which I started a few months ago), and once a critical mass is reached, do some SL meetups to test these waters. Comment or get in touch if people have interest in this.
