NTT DoCoMo FOMA SH905i Keitai

Judging from the rotating banner over at flashdevices.net … I would say it’s safe to say guess that a certain special someone has a Flash Lite 3 enabled device (the FOMA Sh905i) from NTT DoCoMo (Japan).

This device and other keitai in this series are Symbian OS based.

There are some clips on youtube from a user named “masakichi22″ if you want to drool. Also, here’s a FOMA SH905i – DoCoMo commercial from Japan.

FOMA SH905i - line up

I’d post specs (in English), but do you really want to put yourself through that pain of not having one? Really.

That’s a great device. I have my own P905i at home and am working on Kisekae creation, etc. These handsets are really amazing with 500+ page manuals!! :)

Do these devices offer English support? or are they Japanese only?

500+ manuals? Wow, I don’t think Nokia goes above 100.

It must cover every nook and cranny, feature wise.

  3. Ken Ibrahim Says:

Yes they do, especially as they are now world roaming phones (GSM). The handset’s interface can be set to either Japanese or English and in addition to the tome of a manual included with the phone (Japanese) an English manual is provided for each of the 905 series handsets (plus others) at http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/english/support/manual/index.html

Lots of nooks and crannies! One of my favorites is using the handset as a remote control via the infrared transmitter and shutting off TVs in big electronics stores in downtown Tokyo!!

I figured … after I caught the NTT DoCoMo 2007 webcast I thought I read that some of models didn’t support it for some odd reason … but I guess I was wrong.

Ha. Reminds me of the Gizmodo employee that just got banned from the CES after the 2008 show.

He had bought a homebrew IR TV disrupter from Make Magazine and was turning off TV’s left and right … AND during a *PRESENTATION*.

He was quite a bastard, so serves him right for getting banned.

  5. Ken Ibrahim Says:

Ah, I haven’t actually turned the TVs off myself but the idea was mentioned to me by a friend of mine living in Tokyo whose apparently tried it. I did read a bit through the infrared description in the manual though :)
