Autoconfiging your (unlocked) Nokia device for data access
August 30th, 2007 by Scott JanousekVia Bill. He recently posted a link to the Nokia data settings auto-configurator.
Basically, you type in all your info (device model, operator, region, etc) and it sends an SMS message that will configure your unlocked (Nokia) handset so it can access Web, SMS, MMS, email, etc … aka: it data enables it by dropping a config file to your new (unlocked) device.
It’s a really time saver. I do recall having to do this a while back manually (this was 2004-2005), either because Nokia didn’t have the service in place or it wasn’t really published anywhere I could find … good times (not!).
Anyways here is the link to the service Nokia provides, and now I have it in a blog post for future reference (when I get a new device) … and yours as well.
