In regards to our Foundation Flash Applications for Mobile Devices book.
I was just looking at some trackbacks and found that Hayden Porter had also written a blog post review of the book. Read it.

Time-saving Mobile Workflows in Adobe CS3 (archive)

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

The archive from yesterday’s fiercewireless session is now online.
I recommend everyone watch this one, as Bill did a really great job explaining the mobile playing field as Adobe sees it.
Also included in this preso are some comments on their plans to target the lower-end spectrum of the handset market. I think this is due [...]

Top keitai devices in Japan

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Vivek was asking about recent device popularity stats in Japan recently and John Koch (Adobe) pointed him to this page (English).
Always good to see some of the newest and most popular devices over there despite the never ending device envy … but our own “keitai” is evolving here in the US … particularly with the [...]

iPhone to get 3rd party apps (just not yet!)

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Recently his “Steve-iness” (aka Steve Jobs) feed some tid-bits of info about 3rd party apps on the iPhone. There is more info here.
Supposedly, Apple is “playing it safe” and not planning on having 3rd party on the device *immediately*.
Smart move for sake of stability? … OR, if you think like Alessandro, then it’s also [...]

Apparently, in a couple weeks, just a mile or two from me is the OLPC “Game Jam” event being conducted at the Olin College of Engineering (think Mini MIT, folks). It’s from June 8 to the 10th.
What is it all about? Here is their event description:
“The OLPC Game Jam is a game design and [...]

LG Prada phone has a Flash Lite 2 User Interface

Friday, May 25th, 2007

Bill Perry recently acquired a LG Prada phone and will be posting a forthcoming review on his blog over at flashdevices.net. This device was shown back at 3GSM, but apparently is currently shipping (or will ship soon depending on region).
This device sports a Flash Lite 2.1 User Interface, but I’m not entirely sure if the [...]

Share your Flash Lite preso slides

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

I’ve initiated a new community effort: “Sharing your Flash Lite presentations” on slideshare.net. The URL for this is:
http://www.slideshare.net/group/flash-lite-presentations

The goal of this endeavor is to have one central location to host community Flash Lite presentation slides (and other Adobe Mobile technologies).
Here’s how I envision the process working … you give a preso to a [...]
