Flash Lite versus “FlashLite”
February 15th, 2007 by Scott JanousekI’ve seen a rapidly growing trend of using “FlashLite” (one word) instead of “Flash Lite” ™ (2 words).
I think it’s probably best to always use “Flash Lite” ™ as that is what MaD Marketing team has used from day one to describe the product.
However, I guess one could make a case that it is easier to search on? … or perhaps this is just misuse due to legacy Adobe FlashCast ™ terminology. But, not any more … Adobe has split Adobe® Flash® Cast™ from one word.
Anyways, I’d thought I’d post, since I see it almost daily.
Now that Flash Lite ™ has established itself in the market, it’s a good idea to use Flash Lite ™ … or if you’re feeling particuarly lazy and it’s something technical folks will read, FL seems to be a handy shortcut that most are using.

Yes! I found this problem, too, many people misspell “Flash Lite”

Luar, right after I posted it I saw a pretty blatant instance of it.
All in all, it’s not such a big deal if it’s mispelled once or twice … but I was just posting about the trend I’ve being seeing.
“Flash Light”, well I have my own tragic story about that one … and how it sneaked into print due to a typesetting error.

Good post. I always see “FlashLite” on http://del.icio.us/ and other sites that only can use one word for tagging.

I imagine that’s one source.
