Seminar: Connecting to external data service using Flash Lite
January 12th, 2007 by Scott JanousekAlessandro Pace is putting on an event entitled: Connecting to external data service using Flash Lite. The seminar is on Wednesday, 24th January 2007 at 1:00-2:00 PM US (EST) and is free to register and attend.
Here is the agenda (very much like his Adobe MAX 2005 presentation, if I remember correctly):
“The presentation will look at the API of Flash Lite 1.1, 2.0, and 2.1 that allow connection to a remote location to retrieve data and media. We will compare the API and look at best practices to use these capabilities for various platforms. The Flash Lite 2.0 example uses these API to retrieve text, images, audio, and video from the Forum Nokia RSS feed and from a remote server. We will examine the various classes to retrieve data from a remote location, including get URL, LoadVars, MovieClipLoader, XMLSockets, and Sound and Video. We will also provide information on tools and data services.”
