  1. Lars-Eberhard Schmidt Says:

Hi Scott, It seems to me as if we were not talking so much more about Flash LITE 2.x in the future?!

I mean if this “Apple device (I am avoiding the precise term, go and have a look yourselves) is really running OS X the whole story seems to be shifting towards “normal Flash (8, 9, …) in the (next) future.

Other manufacturers will hate Apple for this move.

They have yet to post the specs on memory and chip, so we’ll have to see what the device capabilities are …

FP8? FP9? Doubtful in my personal opinion based on some other mobile devices I have … but FP6, FP7? Perhaps. Flash Lite 2.x would be my vote unless performance is there and a non Flash Lite player can be justified …

Also, this is all assuming Apple is even interested in having Flash Lite on their device.

Personally, I can see a lot of potentially for distributing Flash content via iTunes, so if I were Adobe I might be investigating the possibilities here.

Is Flash Lite dead just because Apple’s device is out. No way. Jobs is good at touting his goods. We’ll have to see the device in person to see if it lives up to the coverage today.
