Here’s what they had to say:

8. Flash Lite will make an impact
Slowly but surely, the Flash technology that powers so many Web games is making its way into phones. Apparently over 115 million handheld devices now have the technology inside. Developers are already creating attractive-looking games that use Flash Lite, although so far there’s been no easy way to get hold of them, unless you’re a tech-head or a developer yourself.

We expect this to change in 2007, although it remains to be seen whether the mobile operators will start selling Flash Lite games on their portals, and if so, how they’ll be priced compared to regular games. Meanwhile, Flash Lite could be the technology that kickstarts viral advertising games on mobile, just as Flash has on the Web.

The Flash Lite buzz is quite strong in the South East Asian Countries and I would say this specifically for India. The consumer demand is high and operators would be willing to launch content, but there are not enough Flash Lite content providers.

I am sure the trends for Flash Lite will prove true…we just have to wait and watch to news to come through in Q1 of 2007.

Mariam, is mobile considered “1st screen” in India, or 3rd screen?

I’m curious to know if a large majority of population are going straight to mobile devices, or are moving there from TV -> desktop PC’s -> mobile devices.

I’ve never seen numbers, and frankly I’m a bit out of touch with the mobile space specifically in India.

I can also recommend a cool app for mobiles. It’s called I-Citizen and it came out recently. It’s the world’s first 3D world for mobile handsets. Its fun to play and you can meet people and chat to them as you might have guessed. They have promotions where they give away PS3’s and Xboxes to people in a place called I-Bid in the app. Its beta release was announced in March 2008 and anyone can give it a try. You can get it from your mobiles browser or your pc by going to http://wap.Icitizencommunity.Com also check out http://www.micazook.com for it too.
