Loading ...One of many things you CAN’T get in Singapore - the latest LOST episode.
I had to refrain myself from checking out Camden’s post. 
I can however get some really slick gadgets here.
If anyone has any recommendations for what I should be looking for here, please post.
I already picked up some devices, but I’m trying to get more ideas before I leave.

Singapore is a fantastic city - we always have a great time when we’re there. Electronics shopping in the region is always a treat, but so is the food and the various cultures (Chinese, Malay and Tamil). Little India is always fun for an afternoon/evening, the various hawker markets are a great place to explore, even Sentosa is worth doing at least once - in a kitchy sort of way - just to sit on a beach or dip your foot in the ocean. Of course, you could also take a stroll down Orchard Road and for the cafes and shopping.
If you’re still looking for gadgets there is a great electronics mall at the edge of little India - just off Bencoolen I believe.

Just so others know: Lucky Plaza is a mostly for tourists. I recommend avoiding it unless you can really haggle well … or want to experience the shopping bizzare experience.
Sim Lim is good, but start at the *very* top and then work your way down to level 2. Level 1 is mostly for tourists, and you can probably get better deals at the shops above ground floor.
With Funan, it really amounts to a huge multi-floored Best Buy like we have in the US. The prices are decent and they have a lot of merchandise. You don’t have to worry about knockoffs there.
I didn’t have a chance to visit Bencoolen.

A bit off topic I know, but I am working through your book currently and was wonderning whether you could offer any insite into the current saturation of FlashLite in Singapore.
Obviously an idea of whether 2.1 is widely deployed would be helpful.

Well, there is a HUGE amount of Nokia phones there … so the penetration is high for preinstalled Flash Lite. When I was there (Nov 2007), Flash Lite 2.x devices were just hitting the streets …
Also, I know a couple Flash Lite folks that stuck around in Singapore as a place to do business out of because of its location, and mobile culture … not to mention many of its others ammenities (food, weather, etc).
