Via Lars-Eberhard Schmidt, the 4GB IRiver Clix will soon be available in various
regions.
Yes, it is running Flash Lite 2, as is it’s 2GB predecessor (although they *could* have updated the device hardware and/or firmware … including the Flash Lite 2 Player capabilities). Have to wait and see.
Oh, and also a small aesthetic change. This model appears to be completely black in color.

I’ve been dying in waitting this 4GB Clix
… As for further update: this version can be already pre-ordered through some nordic sites with the price tag apporoximately $340ish (I recommend you to wait for a while until its official release), they will be start sending out the pre order in the launch date which is 1st November 2006

Yep, I too noticed the 4GB anouncement on the iriver website on Friday (10/20) - however nowhere else on the net I could find any further information. Keeping my fingers crossed for 1st Nov

According to the spec so far - there is no mentioning it would support Xvid/DivX. However, as usual U10 user can always use iriverter which is basically simple to convert Xvid/DivX to mpeg4

What about the 15 fps, has that been up’ed to 24 fps? and is this thing gonna show up in the US at $300+ cause that’s ridiculous. These iriver is just stupid if that’s the price, even initially, cause I’ve been waiting for the 4gb for a while, but I’ll have no choice but to buy something cheaper.

yahh…itz really stupid. i’ve been waiting for the 4gb iriver for quite a while. Even still, I’ve searched plenty of sites (including the official iriver site) but yet there’s no sign of the 4gb being released on nov.1st. I just hope it does =)

Regarding the Divx/Xvid conversion to mpeg4, can anyone confirm if that results in higher storage space and/or poor quality?
And yes, $300+ would be too much for a 4GB player man. If iriver wants to put up a good competetion, they need to think over and over again for the price. And they have made the same mistake in the past…. U10 was a damn good player when it came out in the US market, but it failed only for the price tag. Then iriver came out with Clix with twice the capacity and compatible price. Will they repeat their mistake? God knows!!!!
Other than the 4GB volume and being more aesthetic (well, I love black) I could not see a drastic difference in the specs. Did I miss out something?

According to a very reliable source (one of mistic river’s foundes) - the price tag for the iriver Clix 4gb will be USD$199.
About the fps , unfortunately according to the official website as well, there is no improvement on that. However, the screen color has been enriched from 200k to 260k.

I would also like to know if the Divx/Xvid covetion will result in poorer quality. I hope not!
I reallllly hope that the price is $199 like you said, I was just going to buy the clix untill I heard about this 4gb version. I hope the price is under $300 and that it gets released Nov. 1st or I will just ahve to buy the clix 2gb (its fine but 4gb would be nice). I have also heard alot the it will not be released on Nov. 1st. I’v read up on some web pages that it is just a rumor, but who knows. I’m hoping for the best!

Does anyone know for sure if the 2GB accessories, like the cradle and such, are completely compatible? I’d think so, but you never know with these guys. (They wouldn’t sell me another bag for my 2GB Clix. I lost it at the Penny Arcade Expo…)

I’m looking to buy an MP3 player at the moment…
The Clix 4GB looks pretty good.

So, yes, it does work with the U10 dock.
Your best bet to buy these is ebay, many sellers are offering these, yet I have not seen them in a single online store.
