s10

I noticed the iriver s10 is now out in Korea.

Unfortunately, from the specs, it appears as though it does not support Flash Lite content (I can’t imagine playing any games, etc on it anyway … because of it’s small footprint!) … it does however, support a Direct-Click User Interface.

Some great photos are here.

There was also a pre-launch post here and pre-release review.

I checked the photos and it looks like soooo small compared to the U10. Looks like a great device, but for music playing purposes only.

    Yes, exactly.

This reminds me of the SNL (Saturday Night Live) comedy skit where a mock Steve Jobs introduces the new ipod micro, pequeno, and invisa … the ipod that is so small … yes, it’s totally invisible! :)

Well, and it floats too… :)

First of all the good news, the player is not just out in Korea but also in Scandinavia.

Iriver has a quite strange way of presenting their international web sites. If you choose ā€œSverigeā€? from the list of their international iriver.com web site you will find more or less the same content as for the rest of Europe.

So try it here: http://www.irivernordic.com, there are also some more photographs of the s10.

This is the deep link to their Swedish mini site: http://www.irivernordic.com/system/search/product.asp?id=43&container=1&

By the way, the screen resolution of 96 x 128 px is tiny, of course—but isn’t that a great challenge?

The user interface seems to be flash lite (hopefully 2) anyway, we just have to wait for a firmware update or someone who will hack it giving us a new toy to develop for.

Oh yes, don’t you miss to have a look at the English manual of the player which can be found in the ā€œUppgradera/Ladda nerā€? department (ā€œManual pĆ„ Engelskaā€?, .pdf file of about 4.6 MB).

    What a nice X-mas gift!

Haptic. Thanks for posting. I’ll have to check out the manual.
