Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

Here’s a simple Nokia Series 40 screensaver I put together a while back to test out sub-LCD capabilities on the 6125 and 6136.

Download the zip (172 KB).
This screensaver can be used for main or mini-display on Nokia Series 40 3rd Edition Devices shipping with Flash Lite 1.1.

Chumby - a Flash Lite 2 alarm clock on steriods

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

No it’s not Gumby (oh nooooo, Mr. Bill), it’s “Chumby”.
Keith Peters just posted about the unreleased Flash Lite 2 enabled device.
If the iriver u10 and nabaztag ever had offspring, this would likely be it.
At first glance, it looks to be just an alarm clock, but after you read about the device, you’ll think differently.
Interested? [...]

Is this the iriver n20?

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

A few months back, there was some speculation on what the iriver n20 would look like.
In fact, some sketches were officially released from iriver:

Recently, this unofficial photo (courtsey of misticriver) was posted:

The u10 is pictured on the right. I can’t say for certain whether it is in fact the iriver n20 on the left. [...]

Crazy Egg - “Visualize your visitors”

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

This is a brand new tool called Crazy Egg that I came across.
It allows you to track, evaluate, and improve your site by giving you a clearer picture of where your visitors are clicking.
The heat map feature is a nice touch.

Might be useful for your blog … but again, it’s brand new so they [...]

Where phones go to die …

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

UPDATE: Access the main site first, otherwise you get 403 errors. The host has some silly rules about direct links.
You decide … Art or Trash?  This is NOT “photoshopped”.
Here are a couple more mobile “heaps”:
1. More Cell Phones
2. Cell Chargers
Check out other “mass consumption” exhibit photos at Chris Jordan’s site.
I’m not sure if any of these get [...]

Update your iriver u10 PMP from MTP to UMS

Monday, August 21st, 2006

I don’t think anyone has posted about this, but iriver has actually supplied a firmware update that also allows you to upgrade from MTP to UMS for the u10.
What does this mean?
With the UMS firmware, your u10 will act as an ordinary USB storage device. This means you can use the official iriverplus software [...]

Top 10 Most Beautiful Cellphone Designs

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

I’m not entirely sure who compiled this list … but, check out some of the Top 10 Most Beautiful Cellphone Designs here.
The LG K-800 (aka Chocolate) made the list at #2. I actually just upgraded to this device from the SCH-a950. The LG KG-800 is a really sweet device (pun intended). Plus, if you haven’t heard [...]
