eNook - “a gas station for your gadgets”
July 6th, 2006 by Scott JanousekA while back I posted about having a “device shelf” made with good’old velcro, which is a cheap and easy way to store your gadgets and avoid device clutter on a desk …
However, I just found about this product called, what else? eNook … they describe it as “a gas station for your gadgets that has channels for you to plug in and charge all your gear”.
$399? No, thanks. It’s got nice hard wood, metal fittings and all, but if you had Shop Class 101 (you know, woodshop class), you could probably make your own version for a lot cheaper (the blueprints are almost posted online).
Granted, you’re going to have to have spend on the materials, tools, and time invested. So, then again, for some, $399 might not be such a bad deal after all! The funny thing is assembly is required anyways. So you will need at least that experience from Shop Class 100.
Check out some of the other products at http://www.anthro.com. They have some mighty interesting and creative desktop configurations, despite the cheesy website pics.
