The Unofficial FlashLite 1.1 Reference Sheet v1.0

If you’re like me you’re likely going back and forth between the luxury of AS2 and the prehistoric FlashLite 1.1 syntax (aka Flash 4) … which can be a pain … but the price you pay for early adoption.

Anyways, I put together a short reference guide (aka a “onesheet”) that attempts to consolidate a lot of material that is floating around into one document … keyword is “attempts”. There is quite a bit of material and more and more everyday.

The document includes syntax, tips, best practices, urls, etc. I tried to fit as many goodies as I could into a 2 page document …

But if it’s 2 pages why call it a “onesheet”?

Well: 1.) print it out 2.) slap page two to the back of page one 3.) staple them together … optionally 4.) lamenate the whole deal (that is, when version 1.0 is out).

All comments, corrections, & suggestions to: flashlite@scottjanousek.com.

Christ, so where’s the document already?

Here ya go:

P.S.

I want to thank Richard Leggett and Alessandro for some of their input.

I also want to give a big thank to you the Macromedia mobile team for their hard work on the products thus far.

Hopefully we can push flashlite out of early adopter mode by developing more content which the mobile team can use to sell this technology better … which is why the Macromedia Flash Lite Exchange is important.

Good work, but the colors print out horribly light, specificaly the meat of the document. I’d suggest adding a little more darkness to the text.

  5. Scott Janousek Says:

Thanks all, it’s just a draft, that’s why the text is light (on purpose) … It will be darker once it’s “finalized” (1.0) …

Richard, I’ll fix the legability problem for the .exe … I just have to toggle some options in the shell builder I believe …

I might create a VB app & installer so it can sit in the tray. But I think most people will print it out.
