I’ve been a big fan of BlueSkyNorth’s work since MAX last year when I first got my taste for FlashLite at one of their hands on seminars. They were really early adopters. :)

Anyways, I just surfed their redesigned site and noticed:

1.) a new tool announced tool called SWF2SIS. Looks like another packager tool.

2.) a practical flashlite application called Medic Alert … something that I almost built myself a while back.

All of it great stuff if you’re into flashlite … and I’m sure the guys at BSKY won’t mind the publicity. :)

SWF2SIS

“BlueskyNorth are proud to announce the release of SWF2SIS, a new wizard to help compile Flash Lite apps for Series 60 handsets.

In short, SWF2SIS provides a way to package your application .swf file with any extra files (sfws, txt files etc.) and attach an icon which will appear on the handset’s menu, then save it all in a single installer file.”

What did they show during the Max Scott ?

It seams to be a very useful application for flashliters :)

Marco, at Max 2004 … Macromedia held a Mobile Day one day before the conference … lots of info and presentations by industry leaders … most of it high level, but useful nevertheless. I expect the same this year, but more people will attend (I think there were round 100 or so).

As for BlueskyNorth … they held a hands-on seminar on how they created the presi-dance game … basically we all recreated parts of it … it was popular … all seats taken (though some walked out when they found out flash 4 syntax!) … I think Chris Petty? posted it as a dev article later on … I hope they do it again this year at MAX if FL 2 is out before then.

There were also technical presentations by Perry and Nader. Both were decent presenters.
