What do astronomy and Flash Communication Server have in common? slooh.com! It’s out of this world. :)
March 19th, 2005 by Scott JanousekI just caught this in the latest JDJ magazine … it’s a company that allows you the experience high-end telescopic viewing of our universe … all piped to your desktop live.
The servers are supposedly in NY, and the observatory is in the Canary islands somewhere …
They are using Solaris, Linux, Apache, mySQL, Java, and Flash Communication Server to achieve this remote celestial viewing service …
I guess it was only a matter of time before someone starting charging to look at the sky! … but, if you’re into astronomy I bet it’s worth the dough just judging from some of the footage.
