I came across this post … even though I think the article below is refering to hardware flash and NOT software flash … the idea of color flash games on the ipod through flash is really quite appealing … in any regard, perhaps not flashlite 1.1, but perhaps a future version of flashlite … or a custom embededded version? Who knows?? Macromedia and Apple.

Apple job posting suggests better iPod games to come

February 21, 2005 - With every iPod model set to adopt a color screen this year, Apple appears ready to expand the music player’s extra capabilities, especially its bundled games.

A recent job posting from Apple on Gamasutra, a recruiting site for the game industry, seeks a programmer with “experience working with embedded systems” who would in part be “responsible for rapidly developing memory and performance optimized software solutions to complex problems.”

More intriguing than the general job description and qualifications are the optional qualifications, which include “ARM7 RISC processor experience.” Apple’s iPods are powered by a chip from PortalPlayer that is based on the 32-bit ARM7 processor. “Flash experience” is another optional qualification, hinting that Apple may be adding Flash support to the iPod. Flash-based have taken off significantly on the Web in recent years, and their relatively lightweight footprint, coupled with a color screen, would make them ideal successors to the circa 1980 Brick and Parachute games currently featured on the iPod. “2D or 3D graphics programming” is the third and final optional qualification.

Think Secret readers interested in applying for the job can find the listing here. It calls for a minimum BS degree in computer science or equivalent and a minimum 3+ years of related work experience or equivalent “including the delivery of state-of-the-art performance minded products.”

    Hello,
What do I have to do, to make an audiobook file appear on the audiobook folder on my iPod?
I didn't get it how does it work.
Is there a special extension for audiobooks, because I've tried to convert to ACC (tutorial on this forum) but it didn't work.
    Please, help me.
    Thanks

    Hi everyone.
What's a good alternative to the IPOD?
I'm wondering if any of you can recommend a good MP3 player that is comparable to the IPod but WITHOUT they hype and price tabe to go with it.
I was at the apple store a few days ago, and really liked the new 40GB or 80GB IPods that also show video, but was wondering if I could get the same kind of funcationality without that heftly price tag.
